Privacy notice
Last updated 30 October 2026
This explains what information we handle, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We have tried to keep it short and plain.
Who we are
Tapscend is a small business in Birmingham that designs NFC and QR stands for local businesses. In this notice, “we” means Tapscend, run by Areeth Edy, trading as Tapscend, who is responsible for your information.
If you have any question about your information, message us on Instagram at @tapscend, or email us at info@tapscend.co.uk.
This website
This website has no forms, and it doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
If you use the light and dark switch, your choice is saved in your own browser so the site remembers it next time. It is never sent to us.
Like any website, the service that delivers it (Cloudflare) briefly handles technical details such as your IP address, in order to send you the page and protect the site from misuse.
When someone taps one of our stands
Tapping a stand opens a short link on tapscend.co.uk, which passes you straight on to the page the business has chosen, such as its Google review page.
So that we can show the business how its stands are being used, we record which stand was tapped and when. Some stands also send their own tap number, which lets us tell a real tap apart from the same link being opened again later, for example from your browser history.
We don’t record anything that identifies the person who tapped, such as their name, phone number, IP address, device or location. That means we can’t tell who tapped a stand, or whether two taps came from the same person.
We keep each tap record for 24 months, then delete it. We keep only monthly totals after that, which say nothing about anyone who tapped.
When you message us
If you message us on Instagram, we see your Instagram name and whatever you send us. We use it to reply to you and, if you become a client, to design, install and look after your stand. We do this because it is in both our interests to answer your enquiry, and once you are a client, because we need it to do the work we have agreed.
Instagram is run by Meta, which handles messages under its own privacy policy.
If you email us, we see your email address, your name if your email shows it, and whatever you send us. We use it in the same way. Emails to info@tapscend.co.uk are passed on by Cloudflare to our Gmail inboxes, which Google runs under its own privacy policy.
If you become a client
We keep your business’s contact details and the details of your stand for as long as we work together, and we keep invoices and payment records for as long as UK tax law requires.
We don’t sell your information. We only share it with the services we use to run the business, such as Instagram, our email and our website hosting, or where the law requires us to.
What you can ask us
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Message us on Instagram or email info@tapscend.co.uk and we’ll help.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
